DISTRIBUTED BIOENERGY SOLUTIONS

About the Company:

Impact Bioenergy, now known as Chomp, distributes bioenergy solutions reduce energy & disposal costs by generating energy from adjacent organic waste streams. Impact Bioenergy’s prefabricated bioenergy units are uniquely engineered and sized to allow organizations and communities to practice onsite bioenergy food waste diversion, thus substantially reducing multiple costs and generating a faster ROI than wind or solar.

About the Solution:

The Impact 25 Series Bioenergy Systems are designed to scale down the size and cost of anaerobic digestion (AD). This system provides on-site generation of energy from food waste and similar organic materials. This can reduce the environmental footprint of even a single cafeteria or restaurant by offsetting trucking offsite to distant facilities, while also offsetting less sustainable forms of energy with self-generated renewable energy. The 25 Series also produces valuable soil co-products. This means local soil resources are conserved, reducing the need for agrichemicals and providing the local community with a post-consumer food lifecycle. Recycled organic matter can return to the soil as sequestered carbon as close to home as possible. This is a completely new innovation in organics conversion by developing a local, community based, farm-to-table- and back-to-farm life cycle.

Impact Bioenergy specializes in the installation of proprietary small digester units with specific application to such markets as small breweries and other industrial facilities, university and company campuses producing food scraps, islands with small organic residuals in need of local non-hauling treatment, etc. While Impact Bioenergy is not actively marketing to the dairy sector, one possible market application is to small producer/processors in need of treatment of manure wastewater within a small footprint while also cost effectively producing electricity/heat for farm use.

Newtrient will continue to work with Impact Bioenergy as they further develop markets/iterations for this dairy sector but for now the information to this particular application is limited. This technology has not been evaluated using Newtrient's 9-point scoring process because this vendor is not seeking dairy based projects at this time.
