Curt Gooch, along with his team in the Dairy Environmental Systems Group at Cornell, has worked closely with the dairy industry for 18 years to further the understanding of dairy housing and manure handling/management/treatment systems and their effects on dairy animals, the environment, environmental law compliance, farm profitability, and dairy industry sustainability. His work has produced hundreds of papers, popular press articles, web site documents, PowerPoint presentations, and related documents that all target the dairy industry impact for audiences that include dairy farmers and their key advisors, policy makers, elected officials, industry leaders, and educators. Previously, Curt worked as a Project Engineer and as a farm employee on multiple dairy farms.
Wearing another hat, Curt has provided technical/economic/applied consulting services to animal agriculture and affiliated clients since 1995, with most of the work focused in environmental management systems area.
Curt earned two engineering degrees from the University of Maryland – a Bachelor of Science in agricultural engineering and a Master of Science in biological resource engineering. He also held a Professional Engineering license in Maryland for 18 years.
