The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) released a joint letter to state environmental and agricultural agencies actively voicing support for collaborative, market-based approaches to reduce nutrient overloading and improve waterways.

The joint announcement encourages rational programs that benefit the public, environment, economy and farmers. This is a tremendous opportunity for dairy to pursue creative, incentive-based and voluntary programs that help close the gap between what farms can do and what they can afford to do.
