BayoTech’s innovative technology was developed by Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico. Building upon their exclusive license for the core design, BayoTech has continued to innovate steam methane reforming technology and create new intellectual property, filing four additional patents in 2020.
In 2021, BayoTech acquired IGX Group, an established leader in the design and manufacture of high-pressure, cylinder-based hydrogen storage and delivery equipment. With this acquisition, BayoTech becomes a full-service hydrogen supplier, offering localized production, transport, storage and fueling solutions.
Compact in size, BayoTech systems tap into existing natural gas pipelines or co-located biogas resources. Systems produce 1,000 kilograms of hydrogen per day right at the point of use, eliminating the cost and emissions of liquification and transportation.When paired with renewable natural gas (“RNG”) and/or carbon capture, BayoTech’s systems offer a cost-effective green hydrogen option. Benefits Include: Purity: Fuel cell transportation grade hydrogen meeting the SAE J2719 quality standard, including purity up to 99.999% with low carbon monoxide contamination. Capacity: From 200 kg to 1 metric ton per day – that’s enough to fill 200 Toyota Mirais each day with a 300-mile+ range per car. Efficiency: More energy efficient than traditional hydrogen production. For their customers this translates to less feedstock, less space, and lower costs to produce the same hydrogen. Smaller Carbon Footprint: BayoTech’s high thermal efficiency and elimination of wasteful transportation result in lower carbon emissions compared to traditional hydrogen generation technology. Using biomethane for feedstock or combining with carbon capture technologies can even yield carbon negative on-site hydrogen.

Anaerobic Digester Associated Technology:
NOTE: There are several technology types that are used as part of an integrated manure management system that includes an anaerobic digester and are not applicable to manure management in other cases. The impact of these technologies on the critical indicators are represented as those of an entire anaerobic digester system.
