Biogasclean is specialized in biological desulfurization and methanation of biogas. They develop, manufactures and markets fully automated gas cleaning systems for H2S removal with low operating costs and high availability.

 

Biogasclean has over 320 plants in operation – or under construction – in 40 countries. The technology supplies clean gas to more than 650 MW gas engines. The technology from Biogasclean is also implemented over 30 gas-upgrading systems for RNG together with Amine up-grading technology.

Technology Description:

The E-Fuel technology is based on the same technology BiogasClean uses for desulfurization, but with other bacteria and operating conditions. In the E-Fuel reactor CO2 and H2 is converted to CH4. Methane can substitute natural gas and be used for decentralized heat and power production or injected into the natural gas grid. Methane can also be compressed to Bio CNG for heavy trucks or cooled down and liquified to Bio LNG for ships. Furthermore, methane can be processed to green fuel for aircrafts and green plastic for the industry in a GLT (Gas-To-Liquid) plant.   The lowest hanging fruit is biogas plants where the biogas typically consists of 60% CH4 and 40% CO2. But the E-Fuel technology is not restricted to biogas plants only; it can be applied everywhere where you have a CO2 source.

Anaerobic Digester Associated Technology:

NOTE: There are several technology types that are used as part of an integrated manure management system that includes an anaerobic digester and are not applicable to manure management in other cases. The impact of these technologies on the critical indicators are represented as those of an entire anaerobic digester system.

Biogasclean has not been evaluated using Newtrient's 9-point scoring process because they do not have an installation on a dairy operation in North America at this time. Biogasclean is entering U.S. markets and is being assisted by the Danish Trade Council.   Newtrient will continue to work with Biogasclean and the Danish Trade Council to provide more information of this technology as it becomes available.
