The ESMIL MDQ Multi-Disc Screw Press is an advanced solids separation technology designed for demanding wastewater applications including manure and digestate separation. It separates slurry into concentrated solids and clarified liquid, enabling efficient solids removal while supporting nutrient recovery, water reuse, and reduced hauling costs.

Unlike conventional screw presses that rely on a static screen, the MDQ utilizes an innovative dynamic multi-disc filtration system. The continuously moving filter discs provide a self-cleaning filtration surface that virtually eliminates screen blinding and removes the need for frequent backwashing or manual filter cleaning. A polymer-assisted conditioning step combined with the precision filtration tolerances enables the capture of fine solids – including phosphorus and other valuable nutrients – with solids capture efficiencies exceeding 98%. The result is a high-solids cake and a low-solids effluent that can often be reused as flush water for barns or sand lanes. Reduced nutrient loading to storage lagoons also helps lower GHG emissions and can contribute to improved Carbon Intensity (CI) scores for RNG and biogas operations.

Every MDQ is equipped with a proprietary hard-surfaced screw auger engineered for exceptional wear resistance and long service life, even in abrasive applications.
