See the future. Change the Present.

About the Company:

Nowon supplies an innovative, patented Thermal Hydrolysis technology that treats the organic fraction of Municipal Solid Waste (OFMSW). Nowon’s technology effectively contributes to reducing GHG emissions, helps public and private customers achieve recycling targets and promotes renewable energy production ensuring a full commitment to the environment to make a more sustainable planet.

An Integral, Solid and Profitable Management of Organic Waste

Nowon provides a technology that transforms the organic fraction of Municipal Solid Waste and Residuals into a versatile biomass to produce high value-added products, with verified environmental, economic, and social benefits.

This process works as a pretreatment for other existing technologies making organic waste separation easier and improving production yields and consumption, at the time that converges an efficient business model with local and global policies of public interest.

About the Solution:

NOWON is the United States base of manufacturing, operation, marketing, and distribution for ECONWARD TECH, its Spanish sister company.

A Cutting-Edge Technology For Waste Treatment Facilities

Since ECONWARD was founded, it has invested about 80% of its resources in research and development, to build a highly efficient and internationally competitive technology to treat the Organic Fraction of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) by a Thermal Pressure Hydrolysis Process.

This autoclave system operates semi-continuously delivering energy savings, increasing processing capacity, and reducing adverse environmental impacts. This disruptive solution offers modular and scalable units which can be installed and integrated into an existing operation.

Nowon strives to ensure their solution delivers competitive advantages such as:

  • Treats the organic fraction of solid waste
  • Reduces waste disposal
  • Promotes Renewable Energies
  • Produces pathogen free biomass
  • Increases biogas yield by optimizing the AD process
  • Helps accelerate composting process
  • minimizes GHG emissions
  • Produces much lower noise and odor emissions compared to other treatment
  • Meets national and international standards and regulations

Solution Strengths, Weaknesses and Critical Indicators

    Anaerobic Digester Associated Technology:

NOTE: There are several technology types that are used as part of an integrated manure management system that includes an anaerobic digester and are not applicable to manure management in other cases. The impact of these technologies on the critical indicators are represented as those of an entire anaerobic digester system.

    • Long usable life and can be run reliably
    • Creates energy and generates environmental credits
    • Requires proper preparation of the feedstock
    • Requires other technologies for energy utilization
    • Requires other technologies for digestate handling
    • Proper feeding & system monitoring is required to avoid system downtime
    • Proven technology for odor control, GHG reduction and pathogen reduction
