Technology Description:

Trevi's strategy for a comprehensive approach of your manure problems can comprise several different techniques. A Trevi manure treatment plant can treat manure at an affordable cost  

  • biological treatment of the liquid fraction of manure on the farm
    • based upon nitrification, denitrification and dephosphatation
    • low energy consumption
    • small reactor volumes
    • possibility to combine with the (bio)scrubbing of pig stable air
  • polishing of the biologically treated liquid fraction to obtain an effluent that can be discharged
    • polishing of the biological purified liquid fraction by evaporation/condensation
    •   realization of plants with a capacity up to 200 000 m3 pig manure/year
  • condensation dryer

Nitrification/Denitrification Technologies:

  • No saleable product produced in most systems
  • Vermiculture and some other technologies do produce salable by-products (i.e. worms and worm castings)
  • Traditional and modified forms exist with years of experience treating municipal wastewater
  • Uses large, multiple reaction chambers seeded with both anaerobic and aerobic bacteria
  • Traditional concerns are capital cost, requiring large dedicated tanks and large power consumption for aeration.
  • Proven technology for phosphorous recovery, storage reduction, GHG reduction, odor control and pathogen reduction
  • This technology loses nitrogen as non-reactive nitrogen gas
