Vermont Organics Reclamation (VOR) – Coarse Solids Recovery and Mobile Manure Management System

About the Company:

Vermont Organics helps keep your air and water healthy by making and offering Earth’s friendliest soil – the foundation of wholesome food, and a clean environment.

About the Solution:

In the Vermont Organics Reclamation (VOR) process, manure is lifted out of the manure pit into a screen separator and screw press, where 20% of the phosphorus is removed from the manure. The bi-products from the process are transported to a newly built state-of-the-art greenhouse in St. Albans and used to create potting soil and other organic soil products.

Vermont Organics Reclamation (VOR) manufactures a dairy manure based line of organic soil products from its state-of-the-art greenhouse in the St. Albans, Vermont area. They currently have three installations and have completed a mobile manure management system that is capable of being moved from site to site and that can service up to 30 separate locations, depending on their size. The technology is proven and standard for the industry insuring reliable and consistent performance.

The value to the dairy is that the processing equipment is provided by VOR and they receive a source of revenue based on the solids produced. In the case of the mobile system, the entire system is operated by VOR and the dairy is only required to provide standard utility connections and access to the manure containment structure.

Vermont Organics Reclamation has shared its vision of an expanded product line and service area with Newtrient and they are currently looking to develop more dairy based projects and products.
