Solution Strengths, Weaknesses and Critical Indicators

NOTE: There are multiple technologies that are used as part of integrated manure management systems and yet are not manure management types on their own. The impact of these technologies on their own would be minimal or very difficult to quantify.

General Support & Other:

  • Can be an integral part of many manure management systems
  • Most projects have at least some equipment that supports operations of the main technology
  • This technology is not evaluated on its own, the NEAT Matrix for this technology is neutral unless utilized with other technologies.

Newtrient Comments/Opinions:

GEA is a worldwide manufacturer and supplier of reliable manure pumping equipment, with thousands of installations in the United States.  GEA manufactures a variety of pump styles to handle the wide range of manure consistencies experienced on dairy farms and different applications (transfer, pressurized flow, spreader loading, irrigation, etc.). Selection of the proper pump style is based on the consistency of the material to be pumped, if bedding is included with the manure, the vertical and horizontal distance the material will be moved, and the required flow rate. GEA is recognized as a leader in the field of pumping dairy manure and has received the "Newtrient Recognized" designation as a leader in this area of manure management.
