Manurtech – Anaerobic Digestion

ENVIRONMENTAL AND PROFITABLE SOLUTIONS FOR WASTE TREATMENT

About the Company:

Manurtech provides a solution to an environmental problem by transforming a waste product that is otherwise difficult and expensive to treat into a source of self-sufficiency and revenue for farms.

The self-supply of energy and fertilizers coming from manure and other waste products allows you to eliminate or reduce the costs of energy consumption, fertilizers, and waste management.

Thanks to Manurtech, your farm will produce ecologically friendly and high-quality fertilizers that can be sold if you have a surplus. Revenue can be also generated from the sale of surplus energy.

About the Solution:

These are the principal stages of the Manurtech solution:

  1. The waste products (liquid sludge (*) + manure) is sent to the raw materials tanks for storage and mixing.
  2. The waste mixture is sent to the anaerobic biological digesters for treatment, resulting in the extraction of biogas and a digestate, from which a liquid fraction is separated (88%) and a solid one (2%).
  3. The biogas is sent to the co-generation plant to be converted into electricity and heat. Alternatively, biomethane can be produced by purifying the biogas.
  4. The liquid fraction of the digestate, which contains valuable organic nutrients and minerals, undergoes several concentration phases by means of mechanical and thermal systems, thanks to which a concentrated liquid fertilizer is obtained which can be sold as well as clean water that can be discharged or re-used.

Manurtech is a solution developed by three engineering companies with extensive expertise in waste treatment in the agriculture sector.

  • Condorchem Envitech
  • Sigma
  • CHFour Biogas
Condorchem Envitech is an environmental engineering firm providing water, effluent and air emissions treatment solutions for a wide range of industrial activities, including power generation plants, MSW landfills, as well as gas and oil extraction and mining.

Sigma is a partner in Manurtech who states that their main objective is to provide innovative solutions to biological processes, filtration and disinfection to meet the diverse needs of water treatment and waste water in the industry.

CH Four Biogas is a design and consulting firm that has successfully adapted more than 20 years of Swiss biogas know-how to the North American market, incorporating their advanced anaerobic digestion technology into their projects. The company specializes in the development of anaerobic digestion and biogas facilities including technical studies, complete system engineering and design, construction management, and system optimization. Although its roots are in the development of agricultural projects; CH Four has been increasingly involved with municipal and industrial projects.

Manurtech is currently concentrating its efforts in the poultry sector but, as can be seen in the attached video, is beginning to market to the dairy industry as well.

Manurtech has not been evaluated using Newtrient's 9-point scoring process because, although their process appears to be suited for use on dairy manure, Newtrient is not aware of any current dairy based projects.
